Dallas Downtown Evening Skyline

Dallas Evening Skyline

Canon 1Ds Mk2, 70mm, F11, 10 seconds, ISO 100

I was fortunate enough on Feb 7th to acquire a Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS lens. This is my baby! Not even 45 mintues after purchasing it, I found myself with a group of Dallas photographers shooting the Dallas skyline. (Thanks to the meetup group). I arrived late and was the absolute last person to leave the area. Lucky for me, the clouds cleared up after everybody left and I was left with a pretty skyline with not much cloud cover to bother me. This picture was taken with mirror lockup enabled, on a tripod using cable release… a nice 10 second exposure did the trick. I am not 100% sure, but I think I also removed the UV filter for this pic to get the maximum clarity. (I know somewhere in the evening I removed it, but can’t recall if this had it on or not).
